Amazon is asking for my EPR registration number – what do I do now?

In short

Since 12 Aug 2026, Amazon has been checking your packaging EPR registration in every EU country where you sell or store goods – missing numbers lead to listings being deactivated. You need to register in the respective destination country (or join a scheme there), obtain the number and store it in Seller Central under 'Compliance'. Beware: without proof, Amazon can pay the EPR fees on your behalf and bill you for them – usually more expensive than registering yourself.

What to do now, concretely

  1. Check in Seller Central which countries Amazon is requesting EPR evidence for (Account Health / compliance portal).
  2. Use the checker to clarify which registration you really need in these countries (register, scheme, possibly an authorised representative).
  3. Complete the registration or join the scheme – depending on the country, you receive the number (e.g. LUCID in DE, IDU in FR) immediately or after review.
  4. Store the number in Seller Central and document the confirmation.
  5. Don't forget storage countries: FBA storage (e.g. PAN-EU) counts like selling into that country.

The marketplace verification duty is part of the new EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR): since 12 Aug 2026, platforms have had to check whether their sellers are registered in the destination countries. Amazon has been enforcing this for all EU countries since that date – previously it mainly affected Germany and France.
